The River Avon in Hampshire UK is one of the most beautiful rivers in England. Now that taking of Salmon has been prohibited it is hoped that stocks will improve. There has been particular concern about the collapse of the Spring run fish Spring fish are the natural fish of the river. Whilst it is possible to stock Salmon parr, these fish invariably return to the river in the late Summer and Autumn and do not tend to achieve the size of the natural stock.
The Hampshire Avon is one of the best coarse fishing rivers in the UK. My friend Sean has dedicated much time and effort to achieving the skills necessary to capture some of the specimen fish for which the Avon is famous.
